New hire: Jeff Malone joins Town Square as Chief Strategy Officer

News -
The leadership bench at Town Square benefits from new strategic expertise as Jeff Malone delivers his distinctive blend of anthropology, behavioural economics and creative strategy for the benefit of all our clients.

A seasoned agency Chief Strategy Officer, Jeff joined Town Square in May to upgrade our strategic offering and inject new momentum into the planning discipline at Town Square. His experience in developing strategy for clients including ANZ, Jeep, IBM, Unilever, Telstra, McCain, University of Adelaide, Kmart, Heineken, Dulux, Hyatt and Beyond Blue, adds significant new depth and breadth to the Agency’s strategic arsenal. Jeff is a US-born anthropologist who first came to Australia to write his thesis on Australian culture at the University of Newcastle in 1997, settling here in 2011, after stints in New York, Boston, India, and New Zealand (where he also launched and ran the country’s first creatively-backed behavioural sciences consultancy).

Complementing his pedigree as an experienced strategic leader in world-class agencies on three continents, Jeff has worked in strategic product innovation at drinks giant Lion, identifying market opportunities, developing new brands and selling them into the trade in this fiercely competitive industry.

Alison Ray, general manager at Town Square said: “Jeff brings a wealth of diverse strategic thinking and leadership experience to the agency that will benefit all our existing and new clients. We continue to attract significant brands to the agency wanting the expertise and benefits that working with an independent brings, and Jeff will only elevate that further. In addition to being a big brain, he’s also a great person and we are delighted he’s joined the Town Square team.”

Jeff added: “It’s rare to find an agency that cares as much about their own people as they do the work. Add to that to a solid foundation of great clients and some huge ambitions and I was sold.”
