It’s a weird old time to be celebrating awards with the world in its current state. It’s something as an agency you really need to question the investment, even more so than normal. However in this case it was a no brainer, with the international Caples Awards deciding to go ahead with the 2019-2020 show omitting submission fees. This was their reasoning:
1. We’d hate people to look back and see a black hole where creativity in 2019-20 should have been. We want our Book of the Show 2020 to be as crammed with great work as any year.
2. We have assembled a team of fantastic judges from around the world, who are keen to meet up and talk about the wonderful world of ideas, even if it’s in Zoom.
3. You may want to show us some love next year and enter everything you can think of (when we’ll be charging entry fees again).
Not only were we excited to give the Made of Ballarat work the potential to be recognised at an international show, we were even happier to see it shortlisted in two out of three submissions, in both Branded Content and the highly prestigious Integrated category amongst some amazing work and the world’s best agencies.
If you haven’t seen the case study yet, you can watch the video above, or see all the work here. Thanks again to everyone we worked with us on such an ambitious piece of work given the small budget.
While our focus is on much more important matters than awards during this time, we mustn’t forget to celebrate the wins and remember there is still plenty of reasons to remain positive.
