It’s no secret that Ballarat is often perceived as ‘old, cold and gold’. And while there is nothing wrong with any of these things, Visit Ballarat, Ballarat’s major tourism authority, is on a mission to convince Melbournians, and those further afield, that there is more to the home of the Eureka Rebellion. And they’ve got good reason.
Over the last few years, Ballarat has seen something of a quiet revolution going on within the town. People have been flocking in droves to Ballarat’s burgeoning calendar of events, including White Night, Winterlude and foodie first-timer Plate Up Ballarat, on from May 1-31 in 2018.
But it’s not just the big events that are making people notice. Ballarat’s culinary scene is developing. Its arts and culture precincts rival those of any other regional town in Victoria. And craft beer is taken more seriously here than arguably anywhere else in Australia.
In 2018, Town Square will work closely with Visit Ballarat’s marketing team to develop a campaign that brings the region together to continue the good work that is already underway. The campaign is set to launch in 2018.
For Town Square, Visit Ballarat joins an already formidable roster of tourism, destination and travel brands, including Visit Victoria, APT, Captain’s Choice, Sovereign Hill, VTIC and Travelmarvel.
If you can’t remember the last time you went to Ballarat, it’s time to start planning your next weekend away at visitballarat.com.au. Or if you’d like to discuss a destination or travel brand, or any other for that matter, contact Harry now.
