TS begins working with The Big Issue
to help the homeless
Everybody’s heard of The Big Issue, or maybe even seen the vendors on the streets. The problem is, so few of us understand what’s it’s about, who the vendors are, or what the magazine stands for.
For those in the know, The Big Issue vendors are everyday Australians, doing it tough, just trying to make an honest living against all odds to better their position in life. Instead of begging, they buy The Big Issue for $3.50 and sell it for $7 – they keep half – earning a little bit of money and a lot of self-respect. For many homeless and disadvantaged Aussies, The Big Issue is their only option.
Unfortunately, most of us are oblivious to this.
In 2017, Town Square, in collaboration with The Big Issue (and a few other special guests), are launching a series of collaborative Little Projects aimed at raising awareness and understanding of this amazing organisation. And by doing so, improve the lives of Australia’s homeless and disadvantaged. There’s no money involved. Just good people pitching in to help those less fortunate than ourselves.
If you’d love to learn more about Little Projects and how you can pitch in to help, contact Town Square now. If you want to find out more about the amazing work done by this amazing organisation, visit thebigissue.com.
